Believe it or not, the day before yesterday, exactly as promised, my brand new harddisk was delivered. It was a snap to install in my powerbook, took exactly 10 minutes and 43 seconds, timed on my swiss-precision mechanical desktop clock. And it’s fast! Boy, is this one fast harddisk!!! The fact that it is double the size of the old one makes it an ideal tool for when the next generation of the Macintosh operating system arrives, codename Tiger, official denomination Mac OS X.4. I have already partitioned the disk into 2 logical drives, and one will sit empty until it can host this new beast.

Well, that’s it really, the most exciting event of the week. Except that autumn seems to have arrived after all. Sunday afternoon we were still out on the beach and in the sea, this morning I took the bus wearing only my t-shirt (yes, yes, my pants and shoes too), today at around 2 in the afternoon someone pulled the curtains and it started gushing! But really, like there was no end to it! The first rain of the season! In buckets it came down, sky completely dark. It stopped after an hour approximately. Just before I got off the bus after work, it started again, and I had to run the last 100 meters not to get completely soaked. The weatherman says it’s only temporarily, tomorrow will be sunny again. I hope so because I sure got used to this life on the beaches, while I was waiting for this harddisk…

I can only assume that the joy of restoring life to your powerbook has left you unable to think of anything else 😉

Surely, by now, other events worth mentioning to us northeners must have happened to you in Iraklio?

      Good luck!

      Hi Peter,

Nice wake-up call. I deserved that. Will do something about it tonight. Say hello from me to whoever would like that over there.
