    Whoa! Whoa! Enough already!

We’ve had no less than 6 rumblings in the underground in the last 2 hours, all in the same area, 3 of them above 6 on the Richter scale. Someone’s throwing a hell of a Valentine party down there!

Shake me, quake me! Some have accused me of starting this nonsense!

Is that the American Breed song (hopefully not the Amen Corner cover version) you have in mind as well? For a long time when I heard that song I actually though it said “Bend me, shake me,…” instead of “Bend me, shape me,…” so for me it is for ever tied to “shake” and “quake” and “break”…

Actually, I spun the Savage Garden song, “Break me, shake me” (hate me).

Btw, I saw an article xtes that reminded me of your post on how civil servants get a “bonus” for computer literacy, except in this article it says they get paid for days they don’t show up for work due to “circumstances beyond their control (aka, snow).” Please. I lived in NYC for 2 years and Sweden for 3 months, I’d like MY back pay.

My Greek boss won’t even compensate us for holidays he makes us work. He says that even though it’s a national holiday, it’s not in the rest of the world, so we’ll be docked pay or a vacation day if we don’t show up.
