• So this is Christmas…

Eleven days no postings?! That’s not a good start, Luc. I plead guilty on all accounts. I have no excuses. But I have a great explanation! You see, when all of you were preparing for this Grande Bouffe event that is coming up, I have been chasing down webhosting companies for 7 days. The site I’m posting this message on now is only temporarily. Something to get me going. To experiment with this blogging phenomenon, if you want. But it can’t accomodate my future plans, it’s just for blogging, and I want a little bit more than that. So I went looking for a generic webhosting company. And yes, it took me 7 days of constant study, browsing, comparing, asking questions, to come up with a suitable candidate. So without further ado, I’m proud to announce… (drum beating)

Now, don’t go clicking all wild in your browser, because there is nothing on it (yet). The site might even not be accessible right now, as it takes some time to propagate the domain name out to the entire internet. So please be patient. I hope to make a full transition from this site to the new site between Christmas and New Year.

Of course the company that provides this new hosting service didn’t have Radio Userland on their servers, so I had to look out for something that replaced that. After another 48 hours of comparing various packages, I came up with MovableType. Then it took me a day to install that on the server. Now I will have to start configuring it, so that it presents the information the way I want it. That’ll be another couple of days.

Anyway, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Verrrrry Happy New Year!
