It was a beautiful day again today, with temperatures in excess of 32 degrees. We went for a long walk in the hills surrounding Fortezza, the general hospital and Knossos palace. Completely dried out (we didn’t take any water with us) we finished at the Athena restaurant opposite the general hospital. If one day you are in this corner of the world and you have the obligatory visit to the palace of Knossos on your programme, you must halt at the Athena restaurant on your way back to town. You can’t miss it, it’s at your left just past the hospital coming from Knossos. They have the real Cretan cuisine, lot’s of oven dishes and a delicious mousaka. If you absolutely must have grilled meat they will make that too. And all at prices you couldn’t even feed an infant with in the city centre.
