• Souvlaki at the cantina

Beautiful day today. Yvonne and I went to the open air market at the harbour to buy our weekly portion of vitamines, in the form of vegetables mainly. We had a glass of wine at the cantina, together with 2 souvlaki’s each. Always a nice atmosphere at the cantinas. We love it more in the winter when there are not so much tourists. Also, there is something about drinking cold white wine when trying to shield from the cold wind coming in from the nearby sea. Today it was hot. Or warm at least, warm enough for the tourists to wear shorts.

On our way back home we bought a cheap DVD player, which can also read a miriad of other formats. Only €99. One wonders how they can make it for that price. The salesman guaranteed that the connection cables to the television set were included in the box. They were not, as it turned out when I opened the box at home. By now it was to late to go back, the shops were all closed. We’ll see about the cables next Tuesday.

In the evening I installed the latest version of Opera for Mac OS X — I couldn’t watch any DVDs, could I? I fired it up and looked at it for 30 seconds, then decided to kill it immediately. I don’t understand why so many people are so excited over Opera. I don’t like the interface, and I certainly don’t like the ads that come with the free version. I’ll stick with Safari and Firefox for the moment.
