Good thing that Felicien reminded me this morning that Yvonne should be celebrating or we would have been terribly embarrassed and not a little ashamed for having missed “KONINGINNEDAG” today! We are proud as it is that we remembered that tomorrow is a holiday here in Greece and that — what with it being a saturday and all that — we had better done our shopping today! Pfew! If you read that slowly a few times, it starts becoming clear what I’m trying to say.
Anyway, that’s all besides the point: the point is “Congratualtions and Happy birthday, dear Queen, on behalf of Yvonne, your humble subject!” For those who don’t know, for some obscure reason, the Dutch celebrate the birthday of their queen today. I don’t think she was born on April 30, but you’ll have to ask a Dutch person. Me, I’m just the messenger, and a foreigner for that, so – with all due respect to the Dutch and their royalty – I’ve got my own royal family to take care of.
