It seems I went into hiding one month too soon! The Olympic Games only started on August 13th, not on July 13th! How this could have escaped my attention I don’t know. Anyway, I am back now, one week early as it appears, since the Games are not over yet, terrified of course that the terrorists will get to me after all, despite all the military power display in the area.

You all probably went away for a well earned vacation yourself in this period of Great Silence, didn’t you? I hope you had a good time, wherever you went. We never went further than 70 kilometers from home in the past 5 weeks. But we discovered whole new worlds, images of which I hope I will be able to show you one of these days, in my online photo gallery, which is slowly coming out of a coma. Real-soon-now, I promise.

By the way, did you notice that the roof eventually made it to the top of the main stadium in Athens? Beautiful, huh? Makes you wonder why all that nagging and bickering was good for in the months preceeding the opening.
